  Graveside services for Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Reed, 51, of the Curlee Community in Readyville will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 1 PM in Thyatira Cemetery in Bradyville. Bro. Herb Alsup will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 3-8 PM.   Ken was born August 9, 1962 and died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following a brief illness. He was a native of Cannon County and was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Tenpenny and J. T. Reed; wife Judy Reed; step-father, Shelah “Dude” Young and an aunt Jean Gutierrez.   Ken was a member of the Curlee Church of Christ. He was formerly employed by Murfreesboro City Schools. He had also worked as a D. J. at WBRY Radio and at the Cannon Courier.   He was a graduate of Riverdale High School. Ken was a talented musician that could play the drums and guitar. His love for music and talent allowed him to perform with Charlie Daniels, on the Ralph Emery Show and on the Grand Ole Opry. He also earned a degree in Electronics which led to his hobby of repairing cb radios and being an operator. He loved to talk to people all over the world and many of his radio friends would know him by his handle, Underdog.   Survivors include his devoted wife of 14 years, Mary Jackson Reed; brother, Donnie Reed of Murfreesboro; sister, Patricia (Andy) Bryson; daughter, Michelle (Leland) Hayes; granddaughter, Lilly Hayes all of Woodbury; aunts, Mrs. Frankie Goins of Readyville, Mrs. Jean Norton of Nashville, Joyce Ann (Lucian) Hayes of Gatlinburg and Mrs. Linda Tinch of Cookeville; uncles, Jimmy D. (Dorothy) Reed of Woodbury, Marvin Reed of Murfreesboro and Julio Gutierrez of Readyville; step-father, Nile Tenpenny of Murfreesboro; mother and father-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Jackson of Florida; sister-in-law, Janet (David) Winstead; brothers-in-law, Christopher and Paul Jackson all of Florida; also survived by many cousins.   Memories and condolences may be shared at www.smithfuneralhomewoodbury.net   Smith Funeral Home, (615)563-5337
