Jimmy Pitts

Mr. Jimmy Pitts, 65, of Woodbury passed away on October 16, 2015 after an extended illness. He was a native of Cannon County and was born September 12, 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents Presley Pitts and Ruby Jones Pitts; brothers, David Pitts, Edward Pitts and Jerry Pitts; sisters, Gracie Bly, Peggy Edwards and Dorothy Sullivan.He is survived by his son, Daniel Pitts of Henning, TN; daughter, Amanda Barrett of Woodbury; brothers, Gary & Judy Pitts of Murfreesboro, Bobby & Nelda Pitts of Woodbury; two grandchildren, Dustin Barrett of Woodbury and Nicholas Barrett of Nashville and many nieces and nephews.Mr. Jimmy grew up in Auburntown in a large family. He enjoyed watching football with family and friends. He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He and his brother Gary worked together for several years installing carports and RV covers until he became sick and unable to work. He spent the last few years as a patient of NHC in Murfreesboro.Visitation with the family will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 11-1 pm. Memorial services to follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Bobby Nichols will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Heart and Stroke Assoc.
