Shirley Ann (Milligan) Tate, 81, passed away on April 26, 2016 at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, FL after an extended illness. She was a native of Cannon County. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Kenneth Lee Tate of Merritt Island FL and a daughter LeAnn (Tate) Powers and her husband Charlie Powers also of Merritt Island FL. She is also survived by two grandsons Andy Powers and his wife Karen and their children Amelia and Landon of Rockledge FL and Christopher and his wife Stephanie and their children Emma and Morgan of Cocoa Florida. One step granddaughter and her family Michelle and Dave Thurner and their children Courtney and Delaney of Lakeland FL. She is also survived by two brothers Jack Milligan of McMinnville, TN and Jimmy Milligan of Cocoa, FL and 3 sisters Helon Gentry of Woodbury, TN, Betty Billings of McMinnville, TN and Marjorie Lorance of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and that she loved as though they were her own children. She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Nannie Milligan, sisters, Quixie Carroll, Rachel Hillstrom and Sammye Tenpenny and brothers, Billy and Brown Milligan. Visitation with the family will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 12 noon until 5 pm with interment to follow immediately at Riverside Garden.
