Wayne C. Taylor

Mr. Wayne C. Taylor, 61, of Murfreesboro passed away on September 7, 2016. He was born in Murfreesboro, TN on October 12, 1954. His parents were the late Arthur M. “Pope” Taylor and Geneva D. Toombs Taylor. His wife Peggy Herman Taylor also preceded him in death. Two daughters, Sandy Smith and Jennifer Taylor survive him both of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Arthur Taylor, and Stafford (Margaret) Taylor both of Murfreesboro; a sister, Nina Taylor; seven grandchildren, Logan, Tamarah, Chelby, Erica, Lyndsey, Rusty, and Tammy; and several nieces and nephews. Wayne grew up in Murfreesboro and was part of the first graduating class at Riverdale High School. His father and his other siblings owned and operated Pope Taylor’s BBQ for many years. Wayne was the type of person who could do anything. Besides working in the restaurant he did construction and maintenance, worked on HVAC units, and drove for Sledgecraft for a while. He and his brothers were active in sports growing up and loved to compete. Wayne’s wishes were to be cremated and hold a graveside service. The service will be at Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10 am. Chuck Myers and Irving Wallace will officiate.
