Fred Dean Hazel

Fred Dean Hazel, age 91, passed away September 3, 2017. He was a native Murfreesboro and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie Turner; wife, Lena Smitty Hazel; son, Dean Hazel; brother, Emery Washington Hazel; and great-grandson, Devin Mears. He is survived by his son, Billy Hazel; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.  Visitation with the family will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home, Woodbury. Chapel service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday at Smith Funeral with Dwight Smitty officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
