Aria Dawn Gates

Miss Aria Dawn Gates sprouted her angel wings on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Greeting her on the other side are her great grandfather, Joe Pomeroy; and grandfather, Gary Gates.

She is survived by her mother, Ashley Gates; grandmother, Dawn Gates; aunts, Angela Gates, Melissa Gates, Kimberly Gates, and Rebecca Gates; 12 first cousins; great grandparents, Dorothy Pomeroy and Raymond and Shirley Gates; great uncles, Rocky Pomeroy, June Bug Pomeroy, Nikki Pomeroy, Ricky Gates, and Mark Gates; great aunts, Kathy Gates, Kim Gates, and Cindy Sassenet; and a host of other extended family members.

Part of a mechanic family, Ashley already knew she wanted to carry on the tradition with her baby girl. Her plan was to teach Aria young how to diagnose the problem and work on vehicles. No girl in the Pomeroy-Gates family was going to be broke down without a little know how on getting herself back on the road.

With family heritage in dairy farming and working at a mechanic shop, there was no doubt that Aria would be raised in a tom boy fashion, but pink was still allowed, especially if it was Real Tree pink camo. Ashley was excited to begin the journey into parenthood with her little girl and could already picture all the places she would go.

A beach trip to Anna Marie Island topped the list of trips to take with Aria. Of course, the trip could only happen after getting Aria to the farm, mechanic shop, and the racetrack. The whole family was ready to rally around the precious bundle of joy, teaching her the ropes and taking her on rides in June Bug's race car. While they know she is in good hands and being doted on by Pa Joe and Grandpa Gary, their hearts are still broken that she didn't get to stay in their arms.
