Billy Lee Cook, 71, of Woodbury, Tennessee passed away on August 22, 2026. He was born in Oak Ridge Tennessee on December 26, 1954. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Cook and his mother, Nora Cook, and by a sister, Cathy Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Blanks Cook, step children, Seth (Krystal) Powell, Lydia Weber, Hannah (Devan) Tucker, sister, Lou, (Darrell) Goins, brothers-in-law, Mike Bennett and Clay Blanks, grandchildren, McKenna (Joel) Nieves, Reshan Nickson, Grayson Powell, Landon Powell, Nathan Powell, Claire Weber, and Ariya Tucker, great grandchildren, Houston, and JR, nieces and nephew, Tabby (Kevin) Ragland, Trina (Bryan) Jones, Ray (Sara) Bennett, Michelle (Joey) Potts, great nieces and nephews Eli Ragland and Nolan Ragland, Dawson Reed, Jordan Reed, and Wyatt Jones, Knox Bennett, Ashton Bennett, and Sadie Potts.

Billy was born in Oak Ridge but moved to Woodbury as a young boy. He graduated Woodbury Central High School and set about pursuing a love of working on classic cars. He could completely restore a car from the frame up. Including engine, interior, paint, body and all other aspects of restoration. Taking great care to be sure everything was done the right way. He especially loved the classics from the late 50s, 60s, and 70s. The ‘57 Chevy, Nomad, and El Camino were some of his favorites.

He was a humble person who loved his family and would do anything for them. He had a soft heart and loved to kid around and make them laugh. He enjoyed golfing with his work buddies and deep-sea fishing. He was also a gifted amateur photographer. He loved animals, especially his favorite companion dog, “Puppy”. The grandkids lovingly called him, Papa Billy.

A public visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 4 to 6 PM at Gentry-Smith Funeral Home. A private funeral service will follow in the Gentry-Smith Funeral Home chapel.
