Ronald Douglas Christie

Ronald Douglas Christie, age 85, of White Springs, FL. passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the home of his son in Bradyville, TN. following a brief illness. Douglas was born November 22, 1932 at the Belmont settlement near White Springs, FL. in Hamilton County, FL. to the late Fred Christie and Edna Brown Christie. He was a longtime resident of White Springs until his health began to decline and he moved to Tennessee to be closer to his son. Douglas was a graduate of the 1951 graduating class at White Springs. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he went to work as a land surveyor and worked with Donald F. Lee & Associates until he retired. Survivors include his son, Shayne Christie (Mechelle Sullivan) of Bradyville, TN.; two sisters, Avis Bullard and Iris Greene (Fred), all of White Springs, FL.; his half-sister, Pat Reeves of Tallahassee, FL.; three step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Also surviving is the mother of his son, Joyce Metz.Graveside services were held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Corinth Church Cemetery in Columbia County, FL. Funeral services in Florida were handled by Harry T.
