Larry Carter Lawson

Larry Carter Lawson, 70, of Eagleville, TN, passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2026, following a long battle with cancer. He had family by his side. Larry was born on September 5, 1955, in Lafollette, TN. He spent his life working in maintenance and was proud to be a veteran and a member of the American Legion. Larry was known, above all, for his magnetic personality; sense of humor; love of fishing, dancing, and people; and that affirmative “Yeah, buddy!” It may surprise some to know that he was also quietly a sentimental man. In the end, some of us were blessed with the opportunity to know not only the man he had been, but the man he was becoming. He leaves behind a reminder that it is never too late to say, "I'm sorry;" never too late to truly forgive and say, "l love you;" and never too late to come home. Though his journey ended sooner than anyone hoped, we, his family, find comfort in knowing that love found its way back before the goodbye. We will remember the healing, the conversations, the embraces, and the opportunity we were given to reconnect. We rejoice in knowing that Larry accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized as a member of East Main Street Church of Christ in Manchester, TN. In his own words, he was a “different man now.” (Yeah, buddy!) 

Larry is survived by his children, Reina Stoner (John); Rachael Woods (Jeremy); Pamela Floyd (Jimmy); & Heather Burns (Michael); 15 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; his brother, Edward Harrison Lawson (Lisa); his step-sister, Sherry Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Harrison Lawson (and step-mother Marie Haley Lawson); Mother, Helen Lois McNeil Erb (and step-father Donald Erb, whom he affectionately called “Little Dad”); and brothers James Eugene Lawsonand Ronald Lynn Lawson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Gentry-Smith Funeral Home in Woodbury, TN from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, immediately followed by a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery, where his pastor, Brother Kris Casebolt, will be speaking.
