Pauline Bowen, age 82, of Woodbury passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, surrounded by family.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Bowen and Kay Bowen of Woodbury; her son James Bowen of Murfreesboro; her son-in-law Tim Muncy of Woodbury; her grandchildren Rachel Muncy, Derek Muncy and Tabitha Muncy of Woodbury; Her brothers Sammy Manus of Woodbury and George Edward Manus (Faye) of Bradyville; Her sister Bertha Manus Pace of Woodbury. Her nephew, George Manus Jr. and niece, Linda Ann Manus of Bradyville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Bowen and her daughter, Betty Bowen Muncy; Her parents John Morgan Manus and Arine Manus; Her sisters Miles "Do" Manus Summers, Peggy Milligan, Betty Rose Manus, and Patsy Faye Manus; Her brothers BIlly Joe Manus and James Morgan "Buck" Manus. Also, preceded in death by her nephew Russell Lee "Rusty" Manus.
She also leaves behind her cat Simba whom she often called her "Baby Boy." Simba is 14 years old and weighs 22 pounds. Simba loved to sit in mom's lap during the day and sleep at the foot of her bed at night.
Pauline was a member of Elkins Church of Christ and attended worship services until her health began to fail. She was a lifelong Christian. She was loved by her Church family at Elkins.
She worked many years at Colonial Corporation in Woodbury. When it closed, she went to work at Warners in Murfreesboro and worked there until it closed. She then retired and spent time at home with her grandchildren and family.
In September 2021, Pauline went to Gatlinburg with her niece Tabitha Muncy and her daughters Carol and Kay. This was a memorial trip for Betty Muncy, who recently passed away. This was Pauline's first trip away from home. They stayed in the Historic Gatlinburg Inn in downtown Gatlinburg. Pauline had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful mountains. This was a once in a lifetime trip for her. Great memories were created for all.
Visitation will be held at Gentry-Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11-2 pm. Funeral services will follow in the Gentry-Smith Funeral Home chapel at 2 pm. Tim Gentry will officiate. Interment will be in Manus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Elkins Church of Christ.
