Stephen "Woody" Douglas Woodward

Mr. Stephen Douglas “Woody” Woodward, 49, of Murfreesboro, passed away on May 17, 2019. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 26, 1970. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Cochran Woodward.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter Amanda "Meme"; son Dustin; daughter-in-law Kristi; two grandchildren, Aubrey and Logan; father, Larry "Chief"; brothers Chris, Lee, and Bill; sister Pam; sisters-in-law Stephanie, Tammie, and Dawn; brother-in-law Roger; 12 nieces and nephews; and countless friends from Toledo to Tennessee.

Woody, as he was lovingly known to family and friends, was the kind of person who could walk into a store and meet someone for the first time and become friends on the spot. He had a loud and boisterous voice. He loved to joke with everybody. He and Cathy met at a family friend’s house when they were 13 years old and were together from then on. They celebrated 21 years of marriage in August. They loved taking rides in the country on the weekends and going to the mountains. They loved being with their grandchildren every chance they had. He was a collector of many things and loved to make deals. He was employed for 12 years at the Clark Iron & Metals family as a salesman, which fit his personality well. He and Cathy were members of the Experience Church - Woodbury Campus

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 4-9 pm at the Experience Church 209 Murfreesboro Rd, Woodbury, TN 37190 and on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 11-1 pm at the Experience Church with the funeral immediately following. Joe Brown will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to help with their grandchildren’s college fund, which can be made through the website.
