Alfred Lee Ervin

July 5, 1940 — April 13, 2021

Mr. Alfred L. Ervin, 80, of Smithville passed away on April 13, 2021.  He was born in Smithville, TN on July 5, 1940.  Preceding him in death were his parents, James Donald and Lucille Atnip Ervin; brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, and Tommy Ervin; and sister, Mayrene Stesanski.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Ervin of Smithville; sons, Mark (Shannon) Ervin of Portland and Timothy Roy Ervin of Cookeville; daughter, Wendy Sue Ervin of Lebanon; stepson, Warren Weivel; stepdaughter, Teresa Gail (Randy) Bland; sister, Frankie Wagner of Houston, TX; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mr. Ervin was a hard worker and faithful man. He worked laying gas lines and was a jack of all trades. Though he loved working and spent most of his time doing just that, he understood the need for balance in life. There was never a dull moment with him. He enjoyed cutting up and loved to tell jokes like his father had before him. A Christian man, he also understood what was important in life and had a consistent relationship with God, reading his Bible every day.

The family will hold a private memorial service in his honor.  Share memories and condolences with them at www.smithfuneralhomewoodbury.net  Smith Funeral Home, 303 Murfreesboro Rd. Woodbury, TN 37190, 615-563-5337
